| Bangalore Wimax goes Live |
|
 We had earlier reporetd about Bangalore's unwiring plans. The trial project has gone live coinciding with the BangaloreIT.In launch.
The State Government will offer a 10-day free trial of wireless Internet access (using WiMAX, Wireless Interoperability for Microwave Access) . Between Wednesday night and the weekend, the network will be up, offering a 2 MBps connection at Palace Grounds, Vikas Soudha and Vidhana Soudha. It will be available to citizens till November 2nd. |

I had a chance to access the same at Palace grounds. Speed was not 2MBPs but it was significantly faster than my home DSL. Setting up was a major issue as the officers involved in the project didn't have good training

Hi,
Curious to know what kind of equipment will be required on the laptop. Will the current Intel pro wireless a/b/g cards work with WiMax? I dont think so, anyone knows better?
