 According to data released by TRAI [3 Months Old, Audited at the end of Sept-2007], India had 9.63 wireline internet subscribers. Broadband subscribers number is at mere 2.47 million. Surprisingly, there are over 46.37 million wireless internet subscribers who are on the web using GSM/CDMA telecommunications technology.
The Top 5 ISPS in India are
- BSNL - 4.4 million subscribers
- MTNL - 1.8 million subscribers
- Sify Ltd - 0.709 million subscribers
- Bharti Airtel Ltd - 0.706 million subscribers
- Reliance Communications - 0.60 million subscribers
