| Indian Banks under Attack - Where is the Defence ? |

 Attack on Indian banks is nothing new as not all are bothered to secure their customers. In August-2007, Bank of India's security was compromised and look how they and the cybercrime authorities reacted to the complaints.
In a report released by Syamntec, phishing attacks on Indian banks has risen by a whopping 6 fold [IPL 20-20 Sixer ?] Most of the attacks are localized, subtle and targeted. Their were 120 attacks in Jan-2008 involving various Indian banks.
Apart from Phishing scams, Indian bank websites lack minimal security. Except HDFC Bank, none take measures to display a visual keyboard to protect user's passwords for online banking. If this story about US-China hacking war is to be believed, then forget banks, the Government of India must brace up for such an emergency. |

| Tata Communications WiMax Network with Telsima |

Tata Communications has selected Telsima Corporation, a global player in WiMAX systems to provide WiMAX solutions for Tata Communications broadband wireless network in India. Tata Communications has already launched broadband services on the WiMAX platform on a large scale for retail consumers in India.
In the initial phase, Tata Communications' WiMAX network will offer Broadband Internet access and content services to enterprise and residential customers in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Cochin, Chandigarh, and Kolkata. By the end of 2008 Tata Communications plans to have enabled WiMAX retail broadband service in about 15 cities.
The initial consumer experience with Tata Communications Wimax Broadband has been awful. Reliance communications has also launched Wimax broadband in Bangalore and Pune, BSNL and the Karnataka State IT department will follow them, but till date none of them are offering Good service and customer care. |
