With the launch of Windows 8 and is family of Devices - Windows Phone 8, Surface Tablets, Ultrabooks, AIOs, Servers excitement is building amongst corporate consumers for sure and to some extent with non-corporate customers. As day passes, one of the other Partner of Microsoft is springing a surprise. Here is how Ultrabook is at an advantage of Gaming compared to Macbook Air.

MacBook Air could be at a competitive disadvantage if the new Ultrabook touch devices (which look a lot like the MacBook Air) can be used to play touch-based games and deliver an experience similar to the tablet, which is superior for content consumption.

Technically, Apple could move the CoCo touch interface of iOS over to the MacBook air platform (Mac OS X) without much difficulty, but this would need to be written for Intel versus ARM and would break compatibility and Apple has expressed the view that they do not want to compromise the user experience by combining the platforms.

This platform is not as important to Apple as iOS on the iPad and iPhone, but there would seem to be a need to converge the platforms over time to deliver better leverage of the rich apps ecosystem of iOS.
