MTS Mblaze offers quality services. But their business strategy is faulty. It seems that they have not conducted a proper study of the local market conditions where they have launched their new MBLAZE service. I stay at Belgaum. At Belgaum there are players who offer good quality internet services as low as Rs.500 a month for unlimited access!!!!! I don't expect MTS to follow suit since it is in the wireless segment. But what I feel is that the various plans offered by MTS neither suit home users nor the business users. An average home user expects broadband services at around Rs.500/- a month with an approximate data usage (peak time) of around 2 GB or a long duration pack of 3, 6, 9 or 12 months with data download limits of 15, 30, 45 and 60 GB respectively with a long duration discount.
Even the plan design needs modification. For example, the lowest package that starts at Rs.198 offers a data transfer limit of 150 MB and thereafter 50 paise per MB for additional usage. In effect, if you spent around Rs.500 you get a data transfer of 950 MB. On the other hand a user opting for MBlaze Half Plan by spending Rs.498 a month gets a mere 512 MB of data usage!!!!!! I am a sympathizer, MBlaze is new... so are the business managers it seems............
The data usage of 15 GB for Rs.1500/30 GB for 3000/50 GB for Rs.5000 is lucrative. But this will not contribute to the business development of MTS because of the validity limit (30 days) imposed on them. In fact, even business users (unless you are running a cyber cafe!!!!!! or use a large number of computers on a LAN) won't need 30 or 50 GB data transfer in just one month. The total schemes need to be rebuilt. Remember, Indians are not spendthrifts. We spend only what we should today and save for tomorrow.
Certain Information contained at http://www.mtsmblaze.com/plan.php is incorrect. Neither the MBlaze Premium nor MBlaze Standard device comes with an inbuilt memory of 2 GB. The MBlaze Premium does have a micro SD card slot for data storage. If you are ready to shell out some money more to purchase a micro SD card you can use it. The Standard device does not have even the micro SD card slot. There was an introductory discount of 10% on the cost of device (for MBlaze Premium only). Still existing? You need to check out....
But I must admit that the services with respect to speed is above average. However, at times there are outages and you need to disconnect and connect the device for continued browsing. The speed test conducted on the device was satisfactory. But the ping test results were not up to the mark.
The present device software does not support voice services. A device software with voice support shall be a value addition.
