while on 3G it should be 256kbps post-FUP from all operators!
Idea Cellular has introduced UNLIMITED Data usage Plans with Fair Usage Policy [FUP].
Available on USB Dongle[Netsetter] and Mobile handsets
- Rs 750 - Minimum of 2 Mbps Speed for the first 3GB Data usage and after that speed of up to 128 Kbps
- Rs 950 - Minimum of 2 Mbps Speed for the first 6GB Data usage and after that speed of up to 128 Kbps
Maharashtra and Goa are one of the Best Circles[subscriber and revenue wise] for Idea Cellular and despite that they are offering UNLIMITED Plans, surprising isn't it? Where are they getting the bandwidth ? Well, if you look at the 2G GSM CDMA Spectrum Allocation chart, you will see that Idea has over 10 MHz Spectrum in Maharashtra and bulk of it is in 900 Mhz, which is efficient band.
Thus Idea has been able to leverage this spectrum and introduce Unlimited Data plans. I'd be very happy if they upgraded the 128 Kbps speed to 256 Kbps post FUP Limit.
