bsnl 3g service is good but don't buy micromax modem mmx 300g it suck so do their customer serive also price of modem are cheapter if you buy the modem form private shop. but only sim from bsnl office

i can say that the price value is high but it can be considered if the speed is more but we get around 1mbps download speed.. its not fair at all. and upload speed is 0.29mbps its even more worse wen v use it for video calling.

use bsnl 2g sim in 3g huawei modem and enjoy unlimited for just 274 pm .speed 0-1100kbps average around 250 kbps.bsnl is currently allowing 3g network for 2g connection .this cheapest,no match elsewhwre

Firstly BSNL has to teach their employees to talk on phone. They have a lot of attitude problem. Customer service from BSNL is totally 0%. I am sure they will never change unless its privitised.

BSNL and other ISPs should launch a special plan for students….. at least at the time of connection some concession should be availed for students. Out of 100% till now only say roughly less than 10% are using data card. This 10% include those people with good money background. So far I have learned that most of the people don't consider it as a wise decision to go for data card because of its pocket pinching plans.
ISP's in India should keep in mind that India is a country where most of the people belong to middle class, and also that out of 100% say appox 80%-90% of the people using internet are from Student Sector.

Hi Madhu,

YES, its possible to connect any 3G phone with BSNL 3G SIM via USB Cable/ Bluetooth to the Laptop/Desktop. You will be charged 1Rs/1 MB. The speed is comparitively better when compared to airtel’s mobile office which also offers desktop internet via mobile phone, but BSNL 3G’s speed is far less compared to wired broadband service. I can get download speeds upto 45Kbps while i was using wired broadband i used to get upto 120Kbps. And its worth if used less frequently. But its way too costly if used against wired connection.

This is what you have to do, to connect ur cell to pc/laptop.

i) Connect 3G Mobile to pc/laptop via usb cable or bluetooth.
ii) This should automatically install usb modem/bluetooth modem if proper pc suite is already installed.
iii) then go to connection settings in the pc suite and configure the settings as below,

access point : gprssouth.cellone.in
user name: +91
password: +91

connect and start surfing

hi friends, I used bsnl 3g usb modem which cost me of Rs.3000/-. The speed is very good i got the speed of 2.7mbps download and upload 200-300 kbps. I downloaded 978 mb file just in 3 hours.it is costly but is more than the bsnl boadband.

I bought a 3G sim card from chennai and i am staying in Adyar. I have to go to the terrace to catch the 3G signal. Else it would go back to the 2G signal.

I dont think that BSNL has deployed 3G sigal around anywhere(even in metros) perfectly.

Before buying the 3G datacard please do check the 3G signal availability in your area.

EDGE (2.5G), UMTS (3G), HSDPA (3.5G), HSUPA (3.75G)

So you can check the device and the offered service with the above specifications

Hi ppl, i recently started using bsnl internet in kerala. After connection, it shows 3.5g. I get speeds of around 1.2 Mbps. But suddenly when the speed touches around 3.96Mbps, disconnection occurs in pc via data cable. Any changes in settings required like modem intialisation commands???

Well, im using BSNL 3G service in my city jamshedpur. The speed is so Superb. downloading, Uploading and surfing like a lighter speed. Im so proud to be using BSNL 3G. who said, BSNL cheted to customers. I dont agrey at all.

i have Hawaii 3g dongle , with 274 unlimited bsnl plan, but downloading speed just 4/5 kbps and surfing heavy sites is taking too much time to upload, is any way to get high speed bye using Hawaii usb dongle with 2g sim and 274 unlimited plan. one of my friend already using this on his 3g mobile with 274 unlimited plan and 2g sim , please post if this is possible or mail me nifty46@yahoo.com thax

The complaint of disconnecting of 3G datacard is only for prepaid connections. It was there but it was attended.3G is a new born baby and the defects can be set right only by your valuable comments.Now prepaid datacard is working without any disconnection and good speed. If anything is there, pl.contact your local BSNL IMPCS people to contact Coimbatore IMPCS to solve this type of problem.

One advantage of BSNL 3G is that it can be used at BSNL 2G coverage areas also. The speed will be around 250kbps which is equivalent to a broadband.

Iam using same handset Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic with 3G sim card conected to my Laptop in Chennai. Speed is average, i get a download speed of 30-60 kbps, browsing speed is also average, better than Airtels Mobile office.
The problem is 3G ntwork is very poor, keeps dipping down, and bcoz of which (and also due to 3G) the battery goes down very fast. Iam not really happy. and its expensive too if you use it more (Rs 1 for 1MB).

Hi Friends..

Now you can use Blackberry + 3g for 999 only with BSNL. Recently Chennai Telephones increased the speed for Blackberry users up to 7Mbps.. So Enjoy Unlimited internet connectivity with Blackberry.
