Maxis owned Aircel to get LoI from DoT

DoT has cleared the deck for Aircel to operate in seven more circles in India. Aircel currently operates in the circles of Chennai, TamilNadu, Assam, Orissa, West Bengal, Jammu & Kashmir and North East India. It has receievd approval from the DoT to start operations in Mumbai, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Delhi, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh service areas.With the entry of Maxis, the number of mobile service providers with PAN India presence now goes up to nine.
Aircel is majority owned by Maxis Telecom of Malaysia. With the entry of Maxis, you can only expect your call charges to go down
