MTNL greas up for 3G rollout

State owned MTNL which has to go through the bidding process(without backdoor entry) has finalized its 3G rollout plans. It has placed equipment and networking orders with ITI-Alcatel. In another development, the GSM lobby represented by COAI, has expressed it’s unhappiness over 3G rollout recommendations of TRAI and in a release said,
“On the whole, the TRAI recommendations are rather slanted in favour of CDMA and disadvantageous to GSM“.
