Sabeer Bhatia’s Arzoo a Big Spammer

If you can’t win consumers in a booming Online Ticketing world, what do you do ? Start spamming ? Hotmail founder Sabeer Bhatia’s failed startup Arzoo.com which was reborn as a Online Travel Reservation portal has started spamming massively in India.
This is such a shame to a man like Sabeer Bhatia who once upon a time was a whizkid. This spam e-mail indicates that Arzoo is lagging behind its peers [List of Online Travel Reservation Websites in India] and is desperate to acquire customers to survive. Anti Spamming laws are hardly enforced in India and Arzoo is exploiting this loophole. E-mail sent to the company questioning about the spam went unanswered.

Thanks for your views on Arzoo.com’s e-mail campaign. We would like to clarify that the e-mail was sent to all registered users of Arzoo and the e-mail lists of our business partners with their permission. In the future, Arzoo will mention such joint promotions in its emails so that its email is not misconstrued as spam. Further, anyone wishing to opt out of receiving future email offers from Arzoo may do so by sending a mail ‘No Email Offers’ to sales@arzoo.com.
Also would like to clarify that Arzoo is doing great business with its US to India travel products, Monsoon Masti Packages, Weekend Gateway Packages, Widest range of International packages and overall inexpensive rates for all its products. The ‘Mega Airfare Sale offer’ was a big success and many people took advantage of the significant discounts. The number of hits on Arzoo web site increased four times during this period.
